Size of replacement pump

Postby lwparchive » Fri Nov 09, 2012 4:14 pm

I have a well that is 320 feet deep and water is at 255 feet. I took out a 2 hp pump and motor but no one can tell me how many GPM the pump puts out. I need to know what size pump to replace the old one with. Also the # of it so I can check costs. So far I have been quoted from 1200 to 2700. I see the Goulds in the 2hp range is quite a bit lower from you. Now I just need to figure out what size pump I need.I furnish water to 2 residence's and has 4
1/2 baths combined plus 2 kitchens.

This is a very difficult question to answer. As you can imagine, there are several variations of a 2HP submersible pump that is relative to maximum output gallons per minute. If you pick a pump that will delver too much water, then you stand the chance of over pumping the well. If you pick one that doesn't deliver enough water for the demand, then you will be dissatisfied. The best solution would be to contact our office so that we may try to determine the pump that you previously had installed.
