Feeding ground storage tanks

Postby lwparchive » Wed Jan 02, 2013 4:27 pm

I need to move water from a ground storage tank (1) to another holding tank
(2) that is 2,000 ft. away and 160’ up-hill. Tank (2) is used to gravity feed livestock troughs. Demand on this tank is low therefore flow rate from
1 to 2 does not have to be very much. 20 to 40 gallons per hour would be plenty. I will be pumping through 1” pipe. I would like to avoid submersibles. Can you recommend an affordable electric pump?

Sir,
I would recommend one of the Gould's booster pumps, such as, the 5GBC07. This should meet your total dynamic head requirements and still give you around 5 GPM. Make sure the pump has a flooded suction.
