GT20 Irrigation Pump

Postby lwparchive » Tue Nov 06, 2012 10:55 am

Hello,

I am interested in a Gould's GT20 pump.

One circuit of our sprinkler system has six, 5 gallon per minute nozzles in its geared rotary heads running off of 1" or 1-1/4" pipe. The other circuits have as many as ten, Champion pop-up brass heads (that I cannot
find a flow rate for) running off of 1" (I believe) underground pipe. I
am pumping water from a lake, so there will occasionally be some sand and/or slight debris, and have about 15 feet of total head (combined suction add discharge). Would this be a suitable pump for me to use?

There is presently a 2" pipe in place on the supply side that I plan to bush down to 1 -1/2" should I get the Gould GT20, and 1-1/2" pipe on the discharge side. Do you see a problem using a reducing bushing?

Regards,

I don't see a problem with the GT20. Using a bushing will not hinder the performance of the pump.
