We have a Goulds 25GS20 pump, and we're getting a new generator to use as a backup when we lose electrical supply.

What is the startup wattage necessary
to start and run this pump?

What you really need to know is the sKva for the 2HP motor. You would be looking at around 22 sKva when the motor starts. Starting wattage would be around 12KW.
