Stenner pump whining

My 85MPHP17 is running but not pumping. When I turn the power switch on it whines until it slowly stops. Just wondering if this repairable or is a new pump in order.

COULD BE A BAD GEAR IN THE GEARCASE. HOW OLD IS THE PUMP ? IF MORE THAN 5 YEARS WOULD SUGGEST A NEW PUMP
