Stenner leaks all the time

Postby lwparchive » Fri Nov 09, 2012 12:35 pm

For more than 10 years, I have had a Stenner 45MHP10 chemical feeder pump injecting chlorine at a rate of 2 to 4 gpd into my well water system for iron removal, before filtering and softening the water. It has persistently leaked. The peristaltic tube fails at least once per year and makes a mess, yet water consumption is so low that only about 8 gallons of chlorine are used per year.

I am wondering if an equivalent chemical feeder pump from UniDose, Pulsafeeder or other manufacturer might provide more maintenance-free service. I have always heard that the Stenner technology was the best, but I am ready to see if something else might work better.

Can you offer any guidance or recommendations?

STENNER RECOMMENDS TUBES SHOULD BE CHANGED YEARLY SO THIS IS NOT OUT OF THE ORDINARY. AS FAR AS OTHER PUMPS GO , I THINK AT THE VERY LOW USAGE THEY WOULD TEND TO LOSE PRIME
