Motor gets hot and whines

I just purchased an A.O. Smith 1 hp motor model # USQ1102 - A.O. Smith Two Compartment Pool Filter Motors. When I turn the pump on the motor comes on then whines and gets real hot very quick, so I turn it off quickly. I took the pump apart and checked it twice and had a person that works at a motor repair shop and he said the pump is fine. I can not use the motor that way it is. What do you recommend?

Sounds like there may be an issue with the motor bearings. Call our office and ask for one of our technical reps and they should be able to point you in the right direction to get your problem rectified.
