Starite DHH and Pressure switch

Is it appropriate to install a pressure switch on a Sta-rite D series (DHH) pump? I have the 3HP model, and am designing irrigation system to utilize constant pressure on the supply side.

The intended PSI for the irrigation zones is 50 psi, so I was going to utilize a 40/60 pressure switch, with a small 5 gal pressure tank just to deal with leaks, but I don't ever have leaks...

This is intended to prevent pump-start-relay/no-valves-open problems (that I have run into before) I believe that combo boiled the water inside the pump and caused a lot of repiping and repairs on the pump's internals.

Thanks

Sir,
Unless you are using a constant pressure control system, it is recommended that you use a pressure switch in order to turn the pump off just in case a solenoid valve does not open. You can float a small bladder tank on the system in order to achieve this result. A 40/60 switch should be fine.
